bicycle cafe
The project is a precursor to the Car Park Library, testing the concept of combining a parking typology with a social typology at a smaller scale. The project also considers the historic sensitivity of the site, through a new intervention that preserves, respects, and contrasts the existing heritage building.
Alternate functions of Bicycles
1. Bicycles become seating for the cafe and are fitted with batteries to collect energy from cycling
2. Bicycles are fitted with solar panel wheels and hung vertically on a converyor belt storage system, generating energy when unused.
